The upcoming online shotter, Mechwarrior 3, will reportedly use the CryEngine 3 – the same engine used to power Crysis 2.
“Here at Crytek we are incredibly proud that Piranha Games have selected CryEngine 3 to power their forthcoming Mechwarrior Online game,” one of the execs at Crytek said of the announcement. 2012 will see a new segment in the games industry, as free-to-play games will step up to offer true AAA quality to gamers. CryEngine is becoming the technology of choice for the highest quality online games.”
The game does not have a release date yet, but there has been some very positive early buzz about this long-awaited addition to the Mechwarrior series.
